GL Communications Inc., announced today its enhanced Voice Analysis Testing Tools for testing voice while connected to mobile phones or FXO (2-wire analog) devices.

Speaking to the press, Mr. Robert Bichefsky, a Senior Manager for product development of the company said, “The VQuad™ with Dual UTA HD can work with a variety of networks, including Wireless (legacy 2G/3G, 4G, VoLTE, 5G), VoIP, 2-wire Analog (simulate analog phone), 4-wire Analog (headset connection), and TDM. During the established call, several analytical measurements are available including Voice Quality POLQA, P.56 Voice Analysis, Echo Measurements and Delay Measurements, thus providing ‘end-to-end assessment’. In addition, both Data and Video testing are available directly from the mobile device.”

GL Communications Inc., announced today its enhanced Voice Analysis Testing Tools for testing voice while connected to mobile phones or FXO (2-wire analog) devices. All analytical tests can be run manually or automated using VQuad™ Scripting. The FXO interface is the RJ11 on the Dual UTA HD. The mobile phone can be connected via Bluetooth or via the Smartphone ACC cable (includes full Call Control for both methods).

Mr. Shelley Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer

While emphasizing on the enhanced Voice Analysis Testing Tools, he explained, “GL’s Voice Quality Testing (VQT) software supports the POLQA (ITU-P.863) and PESQ (ITU-P.862) algorithms. During the established call, an audio reference file is sent from one end to the other while the recorded (degraded) file is analysed using the POLQA and/or PESQ algorithms. Along with MOS (Mean Opinion Score), the VQT software also provides measurements for Signal and Noise Level gain, Speech Activity, and Jitter.

The Dual UTA HD supports Round Trip Delay (RTD) and One-Way Delay (OWD) measurement capabilities for all interfaces. The Delay measurements can be performed while both network end-points are collocated or geographically separated. Within the GL VQuad™, an easy to use GUI allows the user to configure the Dual UTA HD to perform the RTD or OWD measurement automatically or manually.

The Audio Analyzer is used to analyze any recorded file and return the maximum overall Frequency Bandwidth along with Power associated with the specified voice file. This function provides insight whether the voice file sustained proper frequency bandwidth during the test (for instance was WB audio sustained in the VoLTE network). This function can also be used to confirm proper audio path. The Audio Analyzer can be run manually or automated using the VQuad™ script.

VQuad™ provides P.56 analysis of any captured audio file and can be run manually or directly from the VQuad™ script. The P.56 analysis of a captured audio file includes Active Speech Level, Noise Level, Speech Activity Factor, DC Offset, and Total RMS Power. In addition to P.56, the VQuad™ can also provide Signal Level gain between the Reference and Recorded voice files, SNR calculation based on tones, and Path Confirmation during the established call. During the established call and from within the VQuad™ Script, the VQuad™ can detect Energy and Silence which is useful when navigating an IVR or confirming audio path on the line.

VQuad™ Dual UTA HD’s Double-Talk confirmation is supported for both 2-wire and 4-wire analog. Basically the Double-Talk function will confirm if, during the established call, Double-Talk is detected on the line and provide a Pass/Fail indication.

The latest VQuad™ with Dual UTA HD can analyze the FXO interface and provide both Line Current and Line Voltage of the FXO line. This function is available regardless if the FXO port is onhook or offhook. In addition, the Ring Voltage is automatically provided during the incoming call (Ring Detect). The C-Message, based on recorded idle channel noise, can also be provided as part of the FXO audio path.”

Mr. Bichefsky further added, “All analytical tests can be run manually or automated using VQuad™ Scripting. The FXO interface is the RJ11 on the Dual UTA HD. The mobile phone can be connected via Bluetooth or via the Smartphone ACC cable (includes full Call Control for both methods).”
